Shane Burcaw is a twenty-one-year-old with spinal muscular atrophy. He is currently a junior at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, studying English. Shane runs a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money for muscular dystrophy research.

Tolles lustiges Buch! Gibts nur auf english. Aber auch für non-native-speakers verständlich ohne große Probleme zu lesen. Auch den english humour versteht man gut.

I had to order all of his books, after discovering his Youtube Channel. This was def. one of the most hilarious and inspirational books I have read. It made me tear up every once in a while and I laughed out loud while reading it as well. I am looking forward to read his most recent book.

It's a great read, hilarious and inspiring. Just be aware, that you are just buying a physical version of all the stories on his blog. The stories are a bit more elaborated and there are a few new ones toward the end.I still don't regret buying it, because I want to support LAMN and I like adding awesome books to my collection.

This is a story about Shane Burcaw - the author - who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). At the time of the book he is 21 years old and has been confined to a wheelchair since the age of 3. He covers issues that are related to the every day teen/young adult, but also talks about what it is like to have a life threatening disease. Shane loves sports, video games, and hanging with his friends. He talks light heartedly about dealing with everyday issues from a wheelchair and how it affects him as his condition worsens. He reminds us that it is not worth making mountains out of molehills - especially with situations that are not in our control.I enjoyed this book. It was definitely written by a young adult male - lots of bathroom humor and crude language. But it didn't distract from the message of the book and the story he had to tell. You don't often seen people who are in their 20s and still alive with SMA. It was interesting to hear about the disease from his perspective.The book was written a few years ago, and I did look up his blog, and he is still doing well. Still living a full life with his limited time remaining. Good message for us all.
